The Project Time Attack F87 initiative represents the MODE team’s most focused and uncompromising F87 M2 program to date. After years supporting the F87 community with precision-engineered performance parts, our ambition was to create a development car that explored the full capability of BMW’s S55-powered platform — not only as a road-ready machine, but as a weapon engineered for Time Attack, track days and endurance reliability.

The goal was clear: elevate the F87 M2 far beyond its factory limitations while retaining the signature engagement, balance and personality that makes the chassis so uniquely rewarding. Before our development vehicle even arrived, our engineering teams had already begun blueprinting potential improvements across power delivery, thermal stability, chassis rigidity, drivetrain responsiveness, and motorsport-grade safety.

With a shorter wheelbase than its M3/M4 siblings and a remarkably rigid foundation, the F87 M2 offers an ideal foundation for a focused motorsport build. Yet its compact design, heavy OE emissions hardware, and conservative factory cooling systems presented challenges that required careful engineering. Our Time Attack project set out to address these entirely.

Every component — from the Suspension Secrets full kinematics kit to the MODE intercooler, to PURE turbos and the Dorch fueling solution — contributes to a tightly integrated ecosystem of performance.

This M2 now delivers a driving experience that is dramatically more focused than stock: boosted response is immediate, chassis rotation is intuitive, braking stability is transformed, and oil/cooling systems withstand extended track abuse with confidence.

The build is far from finished — but the platform’s potential is undeniable. Our Project TA F87 serves as a blueprint for owners who want to extract every ounce of performance from the beloved F87 M2 and push its limits beyond what BMW originally envisioned.
