Elevating an icon to new levels

Dissidents carbon fibre 992 Carrera Mini Ducktail  features OEM+ grade fitment directly replacing the original plastic spoiler cover. The entire spoiler motor and mechanism remains and no electrical modifications are required for fitment. Once fitted the ducktail utilises the OEM spolier motor to still lift and drop as it did previosuly. Fitment takes minutes and is 100% reversible should this ever be required.  Not cutting / drilling / bonding required.

This item is suitable for all 992.1 & 992.2 Carrera Coupe Models as well as GT3 Touring. It is not suitable for Targa & Cabriolet Models or models fitted with an aero kit fixed wing. For Targa & Cabriolet models our specific Targa & Cabriolet ducktail should be selected.

The Ducktail is available in a range of finishes including  gloss laquered visual carbon, bare / raw carbon and primer finished. We enlcose a paint mask template to acheive the visial carbon panel shown in some of our images that flows from the engine cover. If you wish to have any visual carbon accents showing do not select an item in primer.

All our components feature our unique designs and are made by hand in the UK and cured via autoclave in carbon fibre / metallic tooling precision made tooling to deliver OEM grade components weave matched to standard OEM weaves used on mirrors and roof panels.

WHAT IS PRE-PREG CARBON?

Prepreg carbon fiber is a high-performance composite material where carbon fibers are pre-impregnated with a resin system, typically epoxy. This material is widely used in automotive aerodynamics, including splitters, due to its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, rigidity, and lightweight properties. Prepreg carbon allows for intricate shapes and smooth contours, which contribute to reduced drag and improved vehicle performance.

PRE-PREG CARBON vs. WET CARBON...

Prepreg carbon fiber offers several advantages over other types of carbon fiber, such as wet carbon fiber. It has a higher fiber-to-resin ratio, resulting in better mechanical properties and lighter weight. Additionally, prepreg provides better control over resin content and distribution, leading to consistent quality and performance. It also generates less waste and creates a cleaner working environment since excess resin is removed during the impregnation process. Prepreg carbon fiber is extensively used in Formula 1 racing due to its exceptional strength, lightweight, and moldability into complex shapes. It contributes significantly to the structural integrity and safety of racing cars, making it an ideal material for bodywork, chassis, suspension components, and crash structures.
