MODE BMW G87 M2 | PROJECT G87

The 'Project G8X' initiative empowered the MODE team to dive deep into BMW's latest G-Series M cars between 2021 and 2023, exploring the cutting-edge technology and performance of the latest M models and S58 engine. With this groundwork, anticipation surged for the announcement of the M2 G87. Eager to delve into its innovations and enhancements, we were primed to embark on early exploration, seeking out modifications and advancements prior to receiving our R&D vehicle.

The G87 M2 would feature the same S58 fitted to the G8X M3 and M4 Competition albeit detuned to 453HP. The M2's S58 is also paired to the near bulletproof ZF 8HP 8-Speed Automatic or the engaging 6-Speed Manual Transmission.

Upon initial observation, the size of the M2 G87 stood out significantly; it appeared notably larger than its predecessor. Surpassing the F87 in scale, the latest M2 model is nearly equivalent in length to an E92 M3. Additionally, it flaunts a remarkable wheel track width, surpassing that of an F80 M3 by 10mm.

Come along with us as we embark on this exciting journey to uncover the capabilities of the new BMW M2. It's a project that has ignited our enthusiasm, and one we're far from completing in its development.
